In an attempt to be more "green", starting Summer 2009 we began emailing the newsletter to our clients in an attempt to relay more information to our clients more frequently and make our newsletter more fun as well! We always welcome any and all questions and comments about our practice.
Over the years, we have seen our staff grow from one to forty, we have seen our facility go from a remodeled strip mall to a state-of-the-art hospital, but the most remarkable change has been a state of mind - how we see our pets today versus then. For most of us, our pets provide us with unconditional love and acceptance - depending on us but not demanding. Sensing our low points and giving us what we need the most - their loving presence. My wife and I have raised 3 children in the last 20 years and we've witnessed the profound positive influence pets have on children. Teaching them responsibility, duty, compassion, and that we almost always get more love than we give when dealing with true friends. We have joked that our next pet is going to be named Prozac because of the positive effect that pets have on us.
But the most meaningful aspect of the last 20 years has been having the privilege of getting to know all of the people who trust their pets to our care. Being a part of such a special bond is both a privilege and a responsibility and it's through that relationship that we have gotten to know so many wonderful and unique people - people who've become friends - friends who shape a person's life and make this career so rewarding. We feel lucky to have made this journey with each one of our patients and their families and hope in the time to come we will make new relationships with new families.
